Itosakura (糸桜)
Prototype Heavy Fighter
Itosakura is built for protected visibility and protected side thrusters, so your strafe mobility doesn’t die early. It sustains laser pressure, shrugs off repeated chip damage, and stays online longer with redundant wiring and power routing.
Specs at a Glance
- Weapons: Laser Cannon ×30
- Top speed: 80 m/s
- Movement: full strafe (up / down / left / right)
- Built to stay reliable through small repeated hits, and to resist full shutdowns with redundant wiring / power routing
Operational Profile
Best use: station / base perimeter defense, local skirmishes, short-range intercepts.
Design idea: protected visibility + protected strafe
Most fighters make you pick one: visibility or survivability.
Itosakura tries to keep both by focusing on two areas people usually lose first:
- the cockpit area (because everyone shoots it)
- the side thrusters (because they’re easy to disable)
Bathtub armor mindset (real-world inspired)
The pilot protection is built around a “bathtub” idea—like old attack aircraft design:
a tough armored “tub” around what must stay alive.
Yes, it’s a very military-nerd approach. Tanks, strike aircraft, survivability layouts—then translated into Starbase structure and geometry.
Survivability (in-house tests)
Designed for repeat hits on the same spot and for the slow grind of component damage over time.
Cockpit & pilot protection
- Cockpit glass alone: 5 railgun hits on the same impact point
- With bathtub armor: up to 8 hits on the same point
Armor & systems
- Front armor: 6–17 railgun hits on the same point
- Side armor: 3 railgun hits on the same point
- Rear weak-point: 3 railgun hits on the same point
Anti-suicide ram measures (spaced armor)
There are spaced armor elements aimed at reducing catastrophic outcomes from
kamikaze ships (detonation or impact runs).
The point is simple: don’t let one explosive contact erase the ship’s critical systems.
> Test numbers come from controlled trials. Real fights vary by range, angle, server conditions, and opponent loadouts.
Power resilience
Wiring is routed with redundant paths and distributed runs to avoid single-point failures.
One cut shouldn’t mean total blackout. The goal is to keep thrust, weapons, and control online longer after damage.
Validation
Itosakura has seen 50+ proper test flights and combat trials, focused on real failure modes and post-hit handling.
Small extras
- Thruster status indicator (quick “are my thrusters still alive?” check)
- Air intake decoration for a distinctive silhouette
- Kanji decal: 「糸桜」
