It flies in one direction to easily load the asteroid and then you can flip around and fly load in the opposite direction, still with decent speed. (SHIP IS CURRENTLY UNDERGOING TESTING WITH BUGFIXES AND HEAT MECHANIC) Hello everyone, First off, thank you to everyone in the community who has helped me with all the questions here and there. There is a lot to know and learn in this game and I would not have completed this ship without the communities help! This is the 4th iteration of the original ship that I started with. It has 774 Solar Panel's that I have seen peak over 17,000 which is around 13.6 free generator's and no added heat! I have been mining at the Moon with this ship and have been mining purely off solar, and never touch the fuel rods. Obviously this is circumstantial, but its been my experience playing and flying this ship for the past two weeks. I have been out mining with it in Zone5 before this iteration and it was able to do over 2200km without needing to refil propellant. With this current iteration, I have made several modifications to it. Updated Asteroid Approaching so you can point at an Asteroid and have the ship take you to it safely with visual indicators Upgraded all Generators and Fuel Chambers from T2 to T3. Added additional coverage on Enhancers for heat reduction and fuel rod efficiency. Added 4 additional Robotic mining arms that retract/extend from within the body of the ship. Added additional range finders to blind spots I found by smashing into asteroids. Updated the ISAN to v4 which supports 15 Waypoints "I know v5 is out, but I personally hardily use it." Refined the Status screen to show errors, warp class, and status on mining bay doors opened or closed. Added the 'Wiggle' system, which makes the mining arms wiggle :) "You can turn this off to force the lasers to converge for manual use" Added safety features to ensure mining arms do not activate from within the belly of the ship when its retracted. Refined the efficiency of the ship further. Added laser velocity control "how fast it moves side to side" So what is this ship and why is it called the Drake? For those that have played Star Citizen, you will know Drake. Drake makes solid ships that well, don't look the best! It may not look like an Origin ship, but man is it functional. With previous versions of this ship I have smacked head on into asteroids with the Plasma's engaged going around 130m/s at the time "speed depends on what you are hauling" and the worst that happened was I lost a solar panel. This ship has been very good to me, and it is capable of getting out there several thousands of Kilometers. Latest variant of the Ghast, now with 20 missiles for bombardment. Since its release the Ghast has been used as my test bed for missile and torp testing before committing to a specific new design. When the 5 pod launcher was finally added, they easily attached to the Ghast, and was very reliable (for missiles anyway). The default scout variant has also been updated with some of the new additions made on the launcher variant. //Download// https://github.com/Open-Source-Armada/OSA-Ghast-Mk2 //Specs// Comes unarmed for scouting or with 20 missiles for bombardment. LaunchMissile+ and LaunchTube+ are your missile triggers, bind both to the same key, this system uses no yolo and is a simple way to cycle and launch missile tubes. CenterSensePlus and CenterSenseMinus is your standard sensitivity, Adjust both to your preferred flying sensitivity. AimMax- and AimMin- is your Aim hotkey, Bind both to the same keybind, this will lower your sensitivity, Adjust MinSensePlus and MinSenseMinus to change Aim sensitivity. AimMax+ and AimMin+ is your Boost hotkey, Bind both to the same hotkey, this will raise your sensitivity, Adjust MaxSensePlus and MaxSenseMinus to change Boost sensitivity. Ship is set to both fly and aim at a smooth sensitivity (tune to your taste), Aim keybind lowers the limits for sniping, Boost keybind removes these limits allowing for faster pitch/yaw. 150 m/s max speed using T2 manoeuvre thrusters, no trails. 104255.96 kg in weight without missiles, 131225.469 kg armed with missiles. Two small prop tanks for 2 million prop, 1 hours 10 mins estimated flight time. One T1 fuel chamber + Two T1 generators, gens idle at 14.5% for 8 hours 30 mins idle time, estimated flight time 2 hours 30 mins. Basic script for current Fuel/Prop times. Uses basic FCU, roll is performed using Roll_Left and Roll_Right buttons, this is to allow fast handling by isolating the roll thrusters from the FCU/MFC. //Tactics// Despite the very hindersome bugs launchers and their munitions have, the 5 pod launcher is surprisingly reliable. Reliable enough for them to be mounted onto the cheap, fast and stealthy hull of the Ghast, making it a fun and easy way to deploy the max amount of missiles onto a target. Unfortunately all missiles/torps have a chance of failure on launch due to bugs, and the ordinance itself is well known to fail at hitting moving targets, limiting there use. Where I personally see use, even if bugs are fixed, is in station bombardment and breaching. Small or large bombers may be a key aspect to siege warfare, and thus I believe small, cheap and stealthy bombers will be very valuable in the possible future. The Ghast has excellent range for a tailless ship, and can carry all its missiles at max speed. Low tech components keep the potentially one way mission more cost effective, missiles are only cheap to a point. Could possibly be used to ambush stationary ships, like surface miners.

Can be used solo, or can be armed with heavy amount of tripods and gunners due to the ships impressive power gen. //Specs// 150 m/s max speed dry, 148 m/s wet with exutium alloy while in gravity. 40 plasma rings total. All speeds recorded at 60 fps, using both transponder settings and speedo, ship breaks speed limit when using uncapped fps settings. 19529268 kg in weight. 800 crates directly on the centre of mass. 16 large prop tanks for 192 million prop, 3 hour 15 mins estimated flight time. 16 T3 fuel chambers + 48 T3 generators + 48 T2 enhancers, gens idle at 20% while charging plasma, 3 hour flight time. Requires a repair hall to operate, it is best used between dev stations and your own with hangers. //Design// Built for speed, and to last as long as humanly possible under fire while being pursued. Two 20 ring plasma thrusters haul 800 crates, 2 oni plated power nacelles with over double the power gen needed to fly and double the expected amount of prop spread across the hull in separate prop nacelles. This redundancy and armour buys you time to escape harmful situations should any jealous pirates try to "salvage" your hauler and cargo. However no cargo ship can survive attack forever, but any attacker must also deal with the high speed this hauler travels at, with no speed loss for all ore/alloy out of gravity, and only goes 2 m/s under max speed in gravity carrying exutium alloy. To add further security, the high weight capacity and power gen allows for a more liberal use of tripods should you have the players to act as gunners, meaning an attacker must also face return fire. Because of the max speed, the pursuing ships must also be max speed, limiting the ship in size making it killable by tripods, or expensive making the attacker invest more capital to attack you. But finally if all this fails, and the ship is brought to a standstill, all explosive components are placed away from the cargo, ensuring that possible recovery of the ship/cargo is possible. Unlike some who prefer to deny the pirate the chance at cargo, I prefer to leave it intact, so that I may attempt to recover it myself, and engage in further PvP. Due to the size of the ship, any attacker will have to commit time and resources to recover it or transfer the cargo away, giving you the chance to turn the tables. As a final added bonus, the ship can take off the moment the plasma has finished charging, having enough gens and battery's to launch the moment you need too, some fighters can not even gen fast enough to pursue if both are spawned at the same time. I'd never tried CLFs and was not about to spend >500k just to experiment with them, so this is literally a one-night experiment in building a small, fast 'roid hauler. Even with a few rocks it'll still move >130m/s. Has an array of five rangefinders, four at the corners and one directly in the center, to help guide approach & capture. Also includes my [simple ISAN-based Odometer](https://github.com/faultstarbase/SimpleISANOdometer), because it's always fun to know how far you've gone. I genuinely didn't expect it to perform well but it has outperformed those expectations so considering that it might be helpful to others I decided to post it. Admittedly though it's not close to perfect & so offers the enterprising ship builder much room for improvement: for one, it does not have roll at the moment and I was way too lazy to bother tweaking it *ad infinitum* to enable it. Handles very well on all other axes, though! :wink: As the creator is incredibly lazy, the blueprint may be [downloaded immediately](https://faulty-industries.s3.us-west-1.amazonaws.com/haul_me_maybe.fbe) at no cost. For exactly the same reason, it is provided with absolutely no warranty or support. The AutoVex is a FREE 2-Autocannon, low-cost fighter ship designed by me, Vexus! This ship is made to be a low-cost, short-range fighter ship. It has (2) Tier2 Box Thrusters, (2) Tier2 Triangle Thrusters, for a combined thrust of 1.76M thrust. At a weight of around 248k tons this gives a thrust to weight ratio of over 7, achieving max speed of 150m/s or greater. The total ore cost, including nominal assembly cost of this ship, is around 130k credits, making it affordable for anyone to fly. The open-style cockpit is wrapped in glass - one of the more costly materials used to make the ship (but easy and cheap to produce on your own!) - for great vision in almost every direction. The balance of the ship is superb, requiring zero maneuvering thrusters. Four "roll" thrusters are used for manual roll control using YOLOL (ensure you bind Roll keys in the ship flight control editor while on the pilot chair by pressing V while in the chair). Other features include: - Compact, easy to use and read console buttons - Rangefinder aiming point at the front of the ship controlled by RF button on console - Standby mode for keeping guns and generators hot when you expect the possibility of action, along with an Info button for changing those values to your desired levels (SbGun is gun charge limit, SbGen is generator limit) - Armed mode for putting all systems (generators and gun charge limit) at 100% - Cruise mode for long distance flying - Turtle mode for a bit more control in tight spaces - Transponder for meeting friends or alerting them to your location during a fight - Precision mode for precise aim, along with the ability to modify button values to achieve a precision you prefer (PValue sets a precise lever min/max, and LeverMoveSpeed changes LeverBindsMoveSpeed of levers to that value; Roll lever is unaffected) - Propellant cut-off button, acts as an "off" button preventing the ship from being used without disabling the button, or to ensure a propellant leak can be fixed before you lose it all - Durable, with mostly Aegesium plating, larger plates and a heavy armored front for withstanding direct fire. Charodium plating is used on the underside for both defense from ground troops as well as (and mainly for) weight balancing - Heat and electricity balance allows for constant autocannon firing non-stop - Weapon ammo container explosions don't disable your ship; make your way home and craft new guns as needed. A little getting used to: going hot by pressing Armed and activating full thrusters from idle will sap your battery quickly. Warm up gens with flight, or Armed/Standby mode while stationary, and then continue on your way. Either way the custom generator script will work it all out for you! Note: To ensure maximum cost reduction when buying the custom ship from the SSC, either buy or make the weapons, which include 2x autocannon barrel, 1x autocannon structure, 1x autocannon structure mirror, 1x mounted weapon body, 1x mounted weapon body mirror, and 2x full autocannon magazines. How hard is it to build a 1000+ crate miner like the Gido? Turns out pretty hard. This is the result, a personal made miner for my tastes, refining away what i did not need within the Elysium belt while adding some features i needed (or just wanted). This ship has little autonomy, this means no CAS, no auto approach, no isan. I am a manual flyer, preferring to navigate the shorter distances around Arma without CAS, and i despise auto approach. It is also lighter on both prop and fuel than the Gido, this is due to me preferring to do my hauling with dedicated haulers, and leave my miner at stations/cap ships. Where it excels is speed and carrying capacity. 1040 crates leaves more room for chunkers (the Gido would often come short on my last T10, unacceptable) 145 max speed dry, with angled thruster pods to help keep this beast on the straight and narrow, has surprising agility. This ship is a brute, a massive box surrounded by thrusters, perfect for those who want to manual fly around stations and cap ships without distraction. A huge thank you to Happytrigger for his free mods, and allowing me to borrow from his Pangasius Bp, this ship would not be without him. This craft was created with the intention of offering 3 models for any customer to find one to match their gameplay style, and deliver exceptional performance to boot The 3 models are P-retty, E-fficiency and M-ining/military) (M model coming soon)! The E model is a good entry point, and you can upgrade later to the P model for 500,000 credits more, or to the upcoming M model for 1 million more! This is the E model, the de-facto successor to the Dragon_Haul_480! It is a hauling machine, with no extra thought given to anything but moving ores safely through the belt. The E model keeps the beam and crate spacebrick aesthetic, so it will not be winning awards for looks, but if you care about stats and stretching your credits, this is the ship for you. Ideal for new space-truckers who want the best entry level value on the market, or for solo miners bringing back their deep hauls, you will love this ship and watching the asteroids whiz by harmlessly as you count your stacks of credits! It comes in 2 engine loadouts, T2 for ultimate cut-throat price efficiency to get your ores where they need to be, or T3 engines when you care about time and need to be there ASAP. All models include the new 2.0 system of Asteroid avoidance, which has been updated to handle more edge cases, and fit onto one chip, whilst maintaining the same .6-.8 detection time of previous iterations! It will automatically cut throttle, hit the breaks and strafe away from the threat. Afterwards it will resume it's previous thrust, so you don't have to manually interact with it! But that is not all the protection you have! A 1 meter gapped and plated grille also defends your precious bits from the cold, hard, uncaring rocks, so anything your AA misses, it will catch for you! It also doubles up as a shroud to cover up the ugly look of hundreds of rangefinder beams. Repairability was also considered, so engine clusters and the front rangefinders are all able to be accessed easily due to the space left for plating the P model, and the cargolock is perfect for bringing spares along. All models include Cargolock frame to haul items and spare parts to where they need to go, all 3 crafting benches and ISAN navigation waypoint system, which can be operated from both the pilot seat and cabin. An avoid counting system lets you know how much frustration you have avoided while AFK, as well as blinking lights and sounds while the AA is avoiding if you are nearby so you can watch it go! A warp core is included by default, but can be stripped before printing your ship for additional space, which you can cram more ore crates, fuelrods, prop, a cargolock or more into! Blueprint Files will be delivered in a .rar file so you can choose which models and version to build, as well as a bundled user guide .txt so you can have common questions answered! This model's speeds as measured by transponder hide settings are as follows: T2/T3--Dry speed is ~145/150 m/s T2/T3--wet (14,000) speed is ~1115/136 m/s T2/T3--wet (24,600) speed is ~92/112 m/s T2/T3 (9536/5893) km Rod range, 36 gen units, 12 chambers w/ t1 enhancers. 24 backup rods T2/T3 (2604/1801) km propellent range with 9 large prop tanks. More can be added in the access halls/warpcore room if you need more range w/o a pit stop.
